Tonte has the ability to work in organizations where his administrative skills will be utilized in order to achieve organizational objectives. His tertiary education began at the Rivers State College of Arts and Science, Port Harcourt where he obtained a Diploma in Law in 2002. Thereafter, he attended the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State and graduated in 2006 with Bachelor of Arts (B.A Hons in English). The mandatory National Youth Service took him to Ode-Etikan, in Ondo State where he served as a class room teacher for (Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission) OSOPADEC. He further attended the University of Benin in 2009 where he bagged Bachelor of Laws. Upon completion of his Law degree, he attended the Nigerian Law School in 2010 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2011.
Since then, he has been in active litigation practice in the law firm of Alaiyingi Chambers (I. S. Dokubo & Co) for over 10 years. He is currently a post graduate student at the Rivers State University where he is pursuing an LLM Degree.
His love for dispute resolution goes beyond he courtroom as he is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators of Nigeria (ICMC).
Tonte is currently the Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Degema Branch (The Treasure Bar) and a Senior Counsel in the law firm of I. S. Dokubo & Co (Alaiyingi Chambers), a law firm in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

Sir Ibim S. Dokubo is the Founder and Principal Solicitor of Alaiyingi Chambers. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (now Rivers State University) Port Harcourt and thereafter proceeded to the Nigerian Law School Abuja. He obtained his Barrister-at- Law Degree (B.L) and was called to Nigerian Bar in 2002.
Sir I.S. Dokubo is a Masters’ Degree holder in Energy and Pollution. He was also a participant at a seminar for sub-regional practitioners in Mitigation and Restoration Strategy at Dare Salam, Tanzania.
He is a member of the West African Bar Association (WABA) and the International Bar Association (IBA). He has attended over 10 conferences of the IBA in England, USA, Singapore, Argentina, Brazil and others.
He began his legal practice in the office Acho Ochoma &Co and thereafter proceeded to join the firm of Amachree & Amachree, arguably one of the leading litigation firms in Port Harcourt and rose to the rank of Director of Litigation before he left to set up his practice. It was this expedition that led to the establishment of Alaiyingi Chambers on the 12th of April, 2010.
Sir I. S Dokubo is a vociferous court room advocate and has concluded a lot of cases with admirable diligence. He has successfully imprinted his expertise in areas like claims and compensation, land, commercial law practice, election petition, matrimonial causes, chieftaincy, inter-state boundaries disputes, ecology, public interest litigation, criminal law, contract, arbitration, etc.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and have acted in the position of a negotiator, mediator and arbitrator for the firm’s clients.
He was upon his call, a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Port Harcourt Branch and participated at various committee levels until he became a member of the Executive Committee of the branch between 2008-2010.
Upon its creation, he moved his membership to the Degema Branch and became its first elected chairman between 2016-2018. He was a member of the National Executive Committee of the Bar between 2016-2020.
